Don Taylor

Although he has been with Bandwidth for over a year now, Don is the newest member of Bandwidth. This southpaw was born on Long Island, NY, and at the age of 10 moved to south Florida. Studying drumming in school Don embarked on a journey that has spanned more than 30 years. His musical influences in the early years were Creedance Clearwater Revival, Nigel Olsen (Elton John), Steve Smith (Journey), Buddy Rich, Ginger Baker (Cream). More modern influences are Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), Carter Beauford (Dave Matthews Band), John Blackwell and on and on....

In recent years, Don has played with local bands such as Heartsmith, Santa Fe, Durango Rush, Mike Watson Band, South River Band, Sierra Grand, American Pride and for solo artists Elizabeth Mount and Penny Lane. Don has performed in venues such as the awards dinner for the 2000 Georgia Country Music Association, Rusty Rooster, Cowboys in the Country, Taste of Alpharetta, 2004 Colgate’s Battle of the Bands @ Wild Bill’s and as a member of South River Band was the opening act for country star Carolyn Dawn Johnson.

Though his experience covers several genres from country to blue’s to rock, Don’s at home with rock and roll. This seasoned professional thrives on playing in front of a crowd of music fanatics.

When it comes to tools of the trade, Don certainly has his preferences. His mainstay is a Tama Starclassic set with Aquarian and Evans heads, Zildjian K Custom and A Custom cymbals, Iron Cobra pedals and Vic Firth sticks, Sennheiser microphones.
