Brian Martin

Brian Martin

Vocals & Guitars

Brian was born in Charlotte, NC and has lived in almost every state in the Southeast. His musical ability came from his mother who sang and played piano and organ in church as long as Brian can remember. He started performing music at the ripe old age of 5 when he sang a solo in front of around 300 people. He continued singing in church and school choirs. When he was around 10, he decided that he wanted to play the guitar and began taking lessons on his first guitar - a Yamaha acoustic.

He played in several bands during high school in the Staunton, VA area. One of these groups included the daughter (Kim Reid) of the bass singer of The Statler Brothers (Harold Reid). Brian had almost decided to pursue golf as a career after high school when Mr. Reid suggested that Brian look into the music program at Belmont College (now Belmont University) in Nashville, TN. It was a great suggestion because Brian auditioned for – and received – a vocal scholarship so he moved to Nashville. After a couple of years in the Belmont music program and in the Nashville music scene, he switched his major and graduated with a Business degree.

After BANDWIDTH’s first, and what was to be only, performance at The Fox Theatre’s Egyptian Room in 2004, the group decided to stay together and the rest is Bandwidth history!!
